The Macon Jew (2026.) A New Yorker living in small-town Georgia reflects on being both Jewish and Christian, and discovers identity isn’t something you trade but rather something you carry. Shot on location in Macon, Ga.
An Urgent Appeal (2023.) This appeal was filmed for Frontline Men’s Ministry, a charity based in the Southern American state of Georgia. Frontline aids those in need within the local community, and has also operated a school for in-need children in Haiti for over two decades.
The Eastern Shore (2024.) This short film captures the tender moments of a woman and her husband celebrating her birthday on a serene beach as the sun sets. Shot and edited to emulate the elegance of impressionistic painters such as Monet, it beautifully preserves their love and joy against the timeless backdrop of the sea and sky. Shot on location in Malpe, India.
Thank You (2025.) This short created in collaboration with The Spirit Moves, captures a portrait of work in motion. The piece highlights not only the labor of moving but the artistry of care, trust, and transition. The project stands as both a record of a company’s dedication and a ‘thank you’ to its clients.
Haiti (2025.) This film documents the CEO of Frontline Men’s Ministry making a direct appeal for aid. The organisation’s school in Haiti provides care and education for eight hundred children living amidst widespread gang violence. Genesis Motion Pictures has had the pleasure of partnering with Frontline once again, to create a piece that serves as a call to action to sustain their noble mission.

GENESIS MOTION PICTURES was founded by Joshua Jayraj. The mission is a simple one: to create films that are passionately and authentically brought together in a way that enables the filmmaker’s true vision to be sovereign
Joshua is a passionate cinephile who has witnessed the film industry’s shift toward corporate-driven filmmaking, often at the expense of cinema’s true essence. Determined to reclaim that essence, Joshua aims to create films that inspire and resonate deeply with viewers. The goal is to craft stories that linger, transcending mere entertainment to leave a lasting impression—much like a favourite film that becomes a part of you.
With a First-Class degree in Film from Keele University and a Master of Arts in Communication with a focus on film from the University of Leeds, Joshua’s journey began working alongside Academy Award winning filmmakers Martin Scorsese and Thelma Schoonmaker in post-production in London. Now based in Atlanta, GA his experiences in filmmaking, acting and painting have further shaped a unique artistic vision, driven by the belief that film is an art form with the power to move and connect.
In a world where anyone can pick up a camera and start filming, Joshua emphasises storytelling with purpose and intention.
